Our Story

Wexham Park Hospital got its first taste of Radio Wexham's programmes in the early 70's when broadcasts started from Upton Hospital. Then Radio Wexham moved into brand new studios (ex offices) in Wexham Park Hospital in the early 80's and we have been here ever since!

Radio Wexham has about twenty volunteer members who, as well as producing programmes for patients and staff, also run the station through a committee, raise money at special fund raising events and carry out all the administrative tasks required to keep the station op
erating smoothly.

Our programmes are broadcast to patients via a loop system round all the wards at Wexham Park Hospital. Most patients have a choice of radio stations on their headsets - we can be found on Channel 3.

Radio Wexham is currently on air and broadcasting its own programmes from 7.30pm till 11.00pm but by summer 2006, we will have some new computer equipment which will enable us to broadcast 24hrs a day! We were lucky enough to have been awarded a lottery grant under the "Awards For All' scheme which we have put towards new software that will greatly improve the quality and quantity of output.

Radio Wexham is an independent charity and is not part of the National Health Service. The station requires financial support from local people and organisations in order to continue its service to patients.
